EXOTICUS, A CHARMING RESTAURANT

Exoticus, a charming restaurant was entirely renovated during the winter of 2023. When you enter inside you will be welcome by a very elegant and distinguished atmosphere.

Facing the iconic square both the internal room and the romantic courtyard are enriched by the original Indian furnishings, the precious fabrics and the tropical plants that recall the exotic nature of a North African villa.

In our restaurant you will live an unforgettable gourmet culinary experience, with the dishes elaborated with passion and choosing only the best quality ingredients, by our Executive Chef Mattia Abatiello , whom accompanied by his talented crew, with every meal pays homage to the Italian and Sardinian cuisine. We offer a 4 course evening menu with a sophisticated oriental influence in order to pay tribute to the exotic style of our restaurant.

MATTIA ABATIELLO, EXECUTIVE CHEF

Born in 1988, Sardinian on his mother’s side, from Campania on his father’s side and with Ligurian grandparents, Mattia is the chef of perfect contamination, bringing the flavours of his origins and of Sardinia to marry perfectly with the exotic and oriental tastes embraced by the restaurant, giving life to simple dishes that are rich in flavour and passion, which tell every stage of his personal and professional experiences, which have led him to travel in search of new ingredients and innovative cooking methods.

SIGNATURE DISHES

Mattia Abatiello loves to exalt the values of cuisine made of simple raw materials with creations that perfectly convey the Exoticus philosophy, drawing exotic contaminations from near North Africa to faraway Japan, in order to personalise and enhance local flavours. Among his most popular signature dishes are the famous Sardinian culugiones, presented as a ravioli ‘gyoza’, the handmade filindeu, presented as ‘ramen’ or the cascà tabarchino, the famous couscous from Carloforte.

EXOTIC DESIGN

Exoticus opens up to various sensory aspects, not only related to taste, to discover colours, shapes and designs that are at the same time unique, handcrafted and exotic. The luminous bodies in Sardinian terracotta by the Asseminese artist Walter Usai, the handcrafted chairs from Santa Teresa di Gallura, the tables inlaid by hand in India and the fabrics reminiscent of pachyderm skins, made in Orosei, all tell of an atmosphere of tropical charm that ties in well with Sardinia and its Black and North African cultural invasions.

The exquisite decorated room face the swimming pool and the sea with is big glass walls. A menu à la carte and a delicious assisted buffet allows you to enjoy a very special breakfast in a romantic and elegant atmosphere, listening to classical music, pampered by homemade pastry and delicious delicacies.

Have one of our signature cocktails prepared for you by our creative Barman, eat an ice-cream while sitting in the indoor room or lying down in the sun loungers on the terrace. In our bar you can also find a rich menu for a light lunch that you can eat in the sea-view patio with teak furniture by the pool. You can choose from our delicious à-la-carte menu with snacks or more sophisticated foods such as homemade pasta, meat and fish dishes and desserts served with an exotic arrangement.

Enjoy a magic and unique experience and have dinner in our temple in the middle of the swimming pool, surrounded by lanterns and some fine and romantic music playing in the background. Surprise your partner with a special invitation, to this fascinating place in which you will be dining on a design table made out of an old root with your own personal maître at your service, just for the two of you. A special menu, accompanied by local wines, will be prepared by our Chef for your unforgettable evening.

A reservation should be done 2 days prior to the desired day. All services can be customized: live music, menu, invitation card and even a cadeau.

Have a pleasant picnic on the beach or in the shade of the palms in our gardens or join an excursion and take with you a rich take-away lunch prepared by our Chef. The packed lunch, together with everything you need for your picnic to be perfect, can be personalized according to your needs and you can choose the food from the several delicacies on our à-la-carte menu.

The service must be reserved the day before within 6.30pm by contacting the Concierge for info, photos and costs.
